The Illinois Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are the lead agencies of the project and have responsibilities for the progress of the work and the decisions made. As joint lead agencies for the development of the environmental document, IDOT and the FHWA are the ultimate decision-makers for the project.
In order to complete the IL 18 River Bridge Project in an expeditious manner, IDOT has selected the consulting firm Parsons to perform the necessary engineering and environmental studies. Parsons is responsible for the day-to-day activities to advance the project to completion.
As a subconsultant to Parsons, Farnsworth Group is assisting in the Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) public involvement process and in the roadway engineering tasks for the project.
Parsons has contracted with Infrastructure Engineering as a subconsultant to assist with roadway, structural, and hydraulic engineering responsibilities.
TERRA Engineering is providing support for the project in surveying and utility coordination as a subconsultant.
Geotechnical Engineering is being provided by Wang Engineering as a subconsultant on the IL 18 River Bridge Project team.
